Ph.D. Student (On leave)
Kristin Klein has been working with the Health Technology and Policy Unit since July 2011, as a PhD student in the Faculty of Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Dev Menon. Kristin’s PhD project is on the topic of infertility treatment, and more specifically on the funding and regulation of in vitro fertilization in Alberta. Her educational background includes an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Calgary and a Medical degree from the University of Alberta (Class of 2007). Since completing medical school, Kristin has been working on her postgraduate medical training. She is currently a senior resident in Public Health and Preventive Medicine, a program which trains physicians to become Medical Officers of Health.
Outside of professional interests, Kristin loves to sing and is a member of the Richard Eaton choral ensemble; she also loves to exercise and travel. However, her favorite thing to do is spend time with her husband, Max, her son, Austin, their golden/lab retriever, Bailey.
