Mandy Bellows, a Registered Nurse, received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Alberta and is completing her Master’s Degree in Health Policy Research within the School of Public Health. She has extensive experience in the areas of quality improvement, patient engagement, patient and family centred care and clinical quality metrics. Part of the team that pioneered the Hospital Standardized Mortality Rate (HSMR) in Canada and a SEARCH (Swift, Efficient Application of Research in Community Health) Canada Alumni, her passion is partnering with a variety of stakeholders to improve health experiences and health outcomes. She has published several articles on patient engagement, meaningful patient recruitment and the application of HSMR within the Canadian Health System. Mandy is currently the Manager of the Cardiac Sciences Program in Edmonton, Alberta.
